<title>Polak&#xB4;s Recipe for Creativity</title>
<description>After Vaso Polak graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Novi Sad, he immediately put his talent to work. His paintings were well received by galleries throughout Europe. But soon thereafter he layed aside his brushes and embarked on a career in architecture and interior design.

Through the inspiration of a lady, Vaso Polak found his way back to his brush and canvas. What followed were exhibitions in Italy, Israel and Austria. Originally from Serbia, Polak spends a third of the year in Austria, a third in Israel, and a third in Serbia.

&#x22;I travel, I paint, and I exhibit my works.&#x22;

He says while adding the finishing touches to his newest creation. In fact, it seems that Polak, in his attempt to redefine the boundaries between himself and the world, has entered into a world of transcultural expression.

&#x22;During my stay in Israel I created a series of paintings, oils and pastels, with biblical motives.&#x22;

Visitors of his exhibitions in Tel Aviv and Haifa were so intrigued by his style that many wished to own a painting. Incidently, some of his artworks now hang on the walls of the Israeli Ambassador&#xB4;s residence in Belgrade, the Jewish Cultural Community in Belgrade and the Museum of the city of Novi Sad.

Art critics call Polak very precise, which can clearly be seen in his works. His paintings are dominated by strong, bright, and clear colors. His trademarks are knots, twists and twirls, or as he likes to call it: &#x22;the twirling of colors&#x22;. Polaks last exhibition in Venice was well received by the public and by art critics. At the moment he is preoccupied with the style of Tamara Lempicka. Nevertheless, he is already making plans for the future.

&#x22;Soon, I would like to have my first exhibition in the United States.&#x22;

As much as he seems to hurry with his creativity, because of new ideas and upcoming exhibitions, Polak is very thorough and spends long hours on every painting.

&#x22;My paintings cannot be &#x27;reworked&#x27;, nor do I have the practice of &#x27;whitewashing&#x27; them and painting something entirely different instead.  What I create stays for all times.&#x22;

It seems that Vaso Polak has found a recipe for his creativity.

<title>The Art of Vaso Polak</title>
<description>Somewhere among the secrets of the human soul, rests a fascination that follows us through our adulthood. The fascination of looking through a kaleidoscope into new and unknown worlds. The strong and colorful, spectral paintings of Vaso Polak remind us of windows into other worlds. Paintings with winding colors, forms and symbols in a winding twist, that reflect a state of original chaos. However, like today`s postmodern physics, Polak brings order out of chaos.

Through his art he searches through parallel worlds, much like the virtual reality of today`s computer-wizards. Exploring the realms of art, from the abstract to the metaphysical, where all artistic rules interact, he has intentionally chosen Vienna as his home. His art is related to the spirit of the Viennese Secession, with its ornaments, and the aesthetic exaggeration, that so much define the previous fin-de-siecle. It was then that the theories of strong and clear colors were born, out of which emerged modern art. Polak`s works lead us into a fantastic, in some views even visionary,world of art.

Polak says that he is intrigued by the &#x201C;twisting of colors&#x201D;. His research into the elasticity of forms, springs from a tradition that has been present in western art since the gothic, through the baroque, and to the surrealist period. The twisting and turning of pillars and columns, or in this case the female body is a sensual and spiritual phenomenon. This is best illustrated by the Dragon-Lady.

Vaso Polak renewed the methods of surrealistic collages and the methods of juxtapositioning. He places objects and figures in unexpected, logically opposite positions with the aim of widening the repertoire of artistic composition. It is these elements that catch the eye of the spectator. What better recommendation than the attention his works of art receive from the public and from galleries all over the world.

<title>Die Kunst des Vaso Polak</title>

<title>Slikarstvo Vase Polaka</title>

On kaze da ga interesuju &#x22;uvrtanja boja&#x22;. Naime, on postavlja predmete i figure u neocekivane, logicki suprotne odnose u cilju prosirenja pojmovnog repertoara slikarstva i slikarske kompozicije. Ta paznja publike i galeriste najbolje ga preporucuje.
